California ServeSMART R.B.S. (Responsible Beverage Service) Program will teach you and your staff how to serve alcohol responsibly, handle difficult situations, detect and deal with drug use or sales, check for proper ID, and understand the effects of alcohol and the human body. 

This training program is specifically designed for those who own, manage and work in establishments serving/selling alcohol. Responsible alcohol service education is extremely important for all those working in this industry.

California ServeSMART is a State Approved Alcohol Server Training Program. Those attending and successfully passing the written exam receive proof of certification. Classes are 3 1/2 to 4 hours long.

Training is available for on-sale and off-sale licensees covering all of California. The cost for a scheduled training is just $15 per person*. There is no minimum for the number of trainees per lesson and the class size can not exceed 60 persons. This is by far the lowest fee of all private sector California state approved RBS programs. Reduced rates may be available for larger groups and ongoing trainings.

**Please note: To help keep our training class rates extremely low, we reserve the right to offer "Open Classes" at locations scheduling RBS training classes - this allows individuals not employed at your business to attend any of our scheduled training classes.

Is this training program equivalent to TiPS, TAM, CARE, TEAM or ServSafe?....
Yes! An RBS program MUST be approved by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control in order to qualify for mitigation benefits and insurance premium reductions. This RBS program does satisfy employers requiring employees receive training by an approved RBS provider.
